Puppy Love

Today, some 14th day of February, evokes a lot of emotion in people.  For some people, it’s good.  For others, it’s very bad.  Well, I fall into the first category.  I can’t help myself. Maybe it’s the fact that I am happily in love with Guitar Dude or maybe it’s that I’m getting soft in my old age.  Either way, I started the day in the kitchen laughing hysterically at myself as I prepared this for my still sleeping love:

Puppy Love

Love makes you do strange things, man…

We don’t do grande gestures and expensive gifts in our house.  It’s just not our style.  So, for Valentine’s Day, I got Guitar Dude a Smith & Wesson sign to hang over the gun cleaning table, which he occasionally lets me use, and a sweet card which I perched next to his lovey dovey aiggs this morning.

I really wasn’t expecting anything in return because, let’s be honest, Valentine’s Day is mostly a girl thang, but yesterday The Big Brown Truck delivered a package for moi.  Let me preface this by saying I periodically ask Guitar Dude for a Basset Hound puppy, and he always answers, “…”  For real… I get silence or dots.  The last time I asked, I jokingly told him I better get a stuffed Basset Hound for my office so I can stare at it and be thankful it’s not pooping on my floor.  So, yesterday when he told me to open the box, I found this sweet thing staring up at me:

Puppy Love

Just look at those big ol’ eyes……

OK, I added the heart marshmallows.  Also, I ate most of the heart marshmallows after I took this picture.  Ain’t my new puppy cute?  And he won’t even tick off the cats.  Or poop on the floor.  Or need walked at 4am….in the rain….when he can’t find a good spot, and I’m standing there groggily in mismatched shoes with my hair sticking up going, “Cooooome oooonnnnnn……..” knowing dang well that dogs can’t poop under pressure, man.  Yep, ol’ Tracker and me are going to have a fine future together.

Anyway, our Valentine’s Day has been filled with a heart shaped breakfast, some puppy love, a lot of marshmallows and that deep, genuine kind of love you don’t need a special day to express.  I hope each of your days has been filled with something equally wonderful!

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all… from our house to yours!

Yeah. We aren’t going out and no flowers or candy. How ever I did get ribeye steaks, sweet potatoes and making corn casserole for our Valentin’s day supper. Like you said I don’t have to have grand gifts to know how much my wonderful hubby loves me ! Love your new puppie by the way. It’s almost as big if not the same size as my Hershey-roo! Lol! Glad y’all had a great valentine day!
